Jesse Mugero is a peace builder who specializes in the post conflict reconstruction of societies ravaged by war or conflict. Jesse believes in the role of the law a key of unlocking social transformation to help societies transition from a period of massive abuse of human rights to become more just and peaceful.
He is currently a Program Associate at the International Centre for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) Kampala Office. Prior to this, he was a Legal Officer at the Refugee Law Project, School of Law, Makerere University.
He is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda and obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Uganda Christian University as well as a Master of Laws with a specialization in Transnational criminal justice from the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa in conjunction with the Humboldt Universiteit zu Berlin in Berlin, Germany.
